Arts & Literacy Festival

Join us to discover local arts, literacy resources,
and enjoy a day of fun activities and performances


Adult Literacy Volunteer
Volunteer literacy tutors work one-on-one with adult learners in a library setting. Training hours and a minimum six month commitment are required.  Tutors meet with learners once or twice per week for 1 to 2 hour sessions.

Literacy Day features Synthia Saint James; Center Theatre Group's August Wilson Monologue Competition Finalists; honoring Morrie Turner, cartoonist, creator of the strip Wee Pals. The event also features various local LA authors for book signing and readings of their work.

Inland Empire Latino Book & Family Festival

Cal State San Bernardino and the John M. Pfau Library’s Latino Literacy Now project, will host the 2nd annual Edward James Olmos LatinoBook and Family Festival on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The festival, which includes workshops, storytelling, meeting book authors and other activities, will be held at the Santos Manuel Student Union’s Events Center and Lobby.

The public is invited to this free full day of food and entertainment, which includes free parking in Lots D and E. Performances will start at 11 a.m., with Multicultural Music Tree, by Jose Ledesma. Maribel Puentes, Danza Azteca Tlazolteoti and Ballet Folclorico Tierra de Mi Padre. These are just a few of the amazing performances that will be staged at the second annual event.
