an annual event
that was co-founded in 1989 by Pizza Hut and the Center for the Book in the
Library of Congress. To make this week special, many schools recruit local
"celebrities" to read aloud a favorite children's book to classrooms.
Classrooms can also listen to a free story each day courtesy of BOOK IT! and
One More Story. To fire up reading for the entire school, principals are
encouraged to take one day out of the week and read from bell to bell for the
Principal Challenge.
